28th Annual Seaside Itako Gongenyama Park Sakura Festival

Period: March 31st to April 15th

Light-up: every night until 10pm

Events:

April 7th, starting at 10am

Balloon performance art, outdoor tea parties, guitar ensemble, Commerce Center Youth Club prize draws, as well as food vendors like the immensely popular B-1 Gran Prix ‘Fuji-omiya Yakisoba’.

Kamisu Sakura Festival

The Kamisu Sakura Festival is held every April in Gonoike Park. The 3000 trees encircling Gonoike are the biggest collection in Ibaraki’s Rokko area. The banks of the Gonoike become a walking path, and the arch of the rows of sakura trees is magnificent. In addition to hanami, you can also enjoy putting golf, jogging, bird-watching, and more. During the festival the trees will be lit up every night, allowing you to experience a view of the sakura not possible during the daytime.

Period: April 1st to 15th

Location: Gonoike Park

Events:

Light-up….every night from 6-10pm, using lanterns

Bouncy castle…April 7th and 8th, free for children

Flea Market….April 8th, 10am

Folk Dancing….April 8th, 11am
